When the time comes for nominations and voting for the SEWSTHOF arrives, I would personally and whole-heartedly appreciate your consideration for a man that gave 17 years of devotion to racing in this area, that man being Kenny Barty. He served as dean of the IRA Infield Safety Crews between 1959-74, also served as Track Manager for the 1975-76 seasons at the Kenosha County Speedway, predecessor to the present Wilmot Speedway. His drive for safety, his love of his "boys", concern for track conditions and overall committment to the sport qualifies him in many aspects for induction into the HOF! I'm hoping that some of you that may read this remember him. I know that pioneer modified driver Russ Sorenson remembers, Kenny saved his life at Wilmot, had to be the 1959 or 1960 season. At 83, if you were to see Russ, and bring Kenny's name up, he'd tell you just that! I'm hoping you remember! Thank you. Signed: Tim Barty (the other half of IRA's "West End Safety Men")
