Looks like we'll see a glimpse of "The Supers of the Seventies" this up coming season! After the 2005 banquet I've had several conversations and traded emails with Larry Horkan. You may remember Larry as a former owner of one of the Mouse's Sedans. In one of our last conversation Larry told me he remembered some old footage he and his crew took back in the early Seventies. He hadn't looked at it in over 25 years and wasn't sure exactly what was on it. Got it back from the digital guy yesterday! It includes 15 minutes of footage from both Capital Super Speedway and Beaver Dam. The highlight would be footage from Memorial Day weekend 1973! IRA and MSC Supers vs. the Latemodels!! On lap 2 Larry tangles with a fender and slides all the way down the back stretch on his head. The tape ends with a beautiful shot of the race winner heading right past the camera carring the checkered flag! The car was built by Randy Marescalco and carried the number 1. It had a wing over head and another right down on it's chin. The driver was noneother than Johnny Riemer!! Right there in color, in focus and on the move! Looking for more 8mm and Super 8 Footage! Dan
