MILWAUKEE MILE TO HOST VINTAGE OPEN WHEEL DISPLAY
The Milwaukee Mile extends a warm invitation to you to participate in the Milwaukee Mile’s "OPEN WHEEL LEGENDS" vintage event. The Milwaukee Mile will be hosting this event during the "ABC Supply/ A. J. Foyt 225" IRL IndyCar Series race along with the USAC Silver Crown and National Midget Car Series races the weekend of July 22-24, 2005.
The "OPEN WHEEL LEGENDS" event is scheduled for Friday July 22nd after USAC practice and qualifying (5pm-9pm). You are invited to bring your vintage VMSC Modified, Indy Car, Championship Dirt Car, Sprint Car or Midget. There are no guarantees but we are working with the sanctioning bodies for you to have an on-track session with your vintage racing car. Those wishing to display cars will receive complimentary tickets to the two USAC events to be held on Saturday, July 23rd. You must notify me in advance if you are planning to attend. You are encouraged to bring displays, folding chairs, and anything else that will add to your comfort and make your day a fun filled one with friends and fellow open wheelers.
It’ll be a happening with a great opportunity to do some bench racing at the historic one-mile oval. Food and refreshments will be available. Anyone showing a car or invited to participate in the LEGENDS autograph session will be provided food and refreshment vouchers.
For the spectator, there will be the opportunity to see the cars you saw race The Milwaukee Mile along with meeting some of the great drivers. This year’s Open Wheel Legends Event will provide you with an opportunity to show off your pride and joy, both on and off the track.
If you drove at WI State Fair Park speedway, whether on the mile or the quarter mile we would love to have you there.
There is limited space so please be prompt to reserve a space. Mods that raced at the quarter mile track will have preference if we run out of space.
Please feel free to contact:
Steve Zautke, at 414-588-3824 or John Surges at 414-321-7948.
or e-mail at: szautke@wi.rr.com or John at this site.
Thanks, we hope to see you there!
